About Karen
Karen Martin Fiedler is an experienced Christian Marriage & Family Therapist based in Pasadena, California serving clients primarily in the San Gabriel and San Fernando valleys. She is a specialist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Brain Spotting and is one of the few therapists in the region certified in EFT (Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy).
Karen utilizes attachment style therapy with her clients and believes deeply that personal faith and spirituality enhance the healing process. She works with adults and couples and specializes in working with those who have experienced incest, sexual abuse, traumatic events, anxiety, depression or those struggling with stuck areas in their lives. She seeks out clients who are courageous and ready for real change and enjoys helping clients to move from confusion and pain to healing.
Where others might label clients as problematic, she sees behavioral patterns as protective strategies. She believes that it is necessary to understand what is behind the behavior to bring healing so the client can choose to find better adaptive responses to life situations.
Karen’s clients describe her as compassionate, consistent, peaceful, personal and devoted. She is empathetic and gentle, yet tenacious in assisting her clients with targeted commitments to real recovery. The goal is to always hold out hope for clients when they aren’t able to, by forecasting a freer and healed person.
A graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy, she is also certified in EMDR, Brain Spotting and EFT. Karen continues to study to increase her knowledge and expertise in a variety of therapeutic disciplines and is a founding Board Member of the Los Angeles Center for EFT. She is now serving her third term on the Board in the position of Membership Chair.
Karen and her family are members of a community church and enjoy serving in various capacities.
